OBITUARY - WILLIAM S. ROGERS.

William Sherman ROGERS was born at Afton, Iowa, September 13, 1868, and died at his home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, Monday morning, April 3, 1933, at the age of 64 years, six months, and 20 days.

On January 8, 1896, he was united in marriage with Blanche WILSON, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and the home was established on a farm near Clearfield. Here he lived for a number of years, later moving to the Ellston vicinity, where the home was maintained until about eleven years ago, when the family moved to Mount Ayr. On August 7, 1931 the family circle was broken when the mother was called home [August 7, 1931]. Since that time Mr. ROGERS has rapidly failed in health.The four children, Clarence M. of Estherville, Gar, Laurah and Olyn of Mount Ayr, are left to mourn his death. Since the death of Mrs. RORGERS Laurah and Olyn have maintained the home and cared for their father. Besides the children one brother, four grandchildren and many other relatives survive.

Mr. ROGERS united with the Christian church at Afton, Iowa, when he was a young man and until late years was very active in church work. The deceased was a great home lover and his chief interest was his family. He was always unselfish and untiring in his devotion. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and derived many hours of pleasure from their company.

As a friend and neighbor he was kind and generous and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Many will cherish the memory of his friendship and his kindly acts.

Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at two o'clock at the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. W. Harold SMITH. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].
