OBITUARY - NANCY LOUISE (WEEDA) RIGGS

Nancy Louise (WEEDA) RIGGS, age 60, of Dallas, Texas, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Baylor Medical Center in Garland, Texas.

She was born on June 4, 1947, in Creston, Iowa the daughter of Donald and Helen (O’NEAL) WEEDA. Nancy was raised on her parent’s farm south of Tingley, Iowa and she proudly, always considered Tingley and the state of Iowa to be "home." She was baptized in the Tingley Christian Church and remained a supportive member of the church her entire life.

Nancy graduated from Mount Ayr Community High School in 1965 and was then married to Craig G. RIGGS. Craig and Nancy had two children, Clint G. (deceased) and Colette L. HUNTE. Nancy lived in Tingley where she raised Clint and Colette before relocating to Dallas in 1988.

For Nancy’s entire career she worked in the healthcare industry, first at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr and for the past 13 years she was a Sales Vice President for Laguna Medical Systems.

Nancy loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her extended family and was a supportive niece and cousin. Her aunts; Pat O’NEAL, Anne HOLLAND and Lucy Garland and her uncles; Alan O’NEAL, Lloyd WEEDA (deceased) and Jon O’NEAL (deceased) were a very important part of Nancy’s life.

Nancy is survived by her parents Donald and Helen, her daughter Colette and husband Larry HUNTS of Smithville, MO, her grandchildren, Ashton Dee BANTA and Trey Alexander HUNT. Also surviving Nancy is her brother Patrick (Brenda) WEEDA of Tingley and a niece BreAnn WEEDA of Mooresville, North Carolina.

Nancy was preceded in death by her cherished son Clint Gordon RIGGS and her grandparents, Clarence and Thelma WEDDA and Leonard and Ruby O’NEAL.

Services were held Monday, June 11, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from Christian Church of Tingley, Iowa.
