OBITUARY - FRANCES E. (VANDERPLUYM) RICKER

Frances E. RICKER, 78, of Mount Ayr died November 29, 2006, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mount Ayr. The Rev. Thomas DOOLEY will officiate the service. Private family committal will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. A memorial has been established in her name.

Frances RICKER, daughter of Elizabeth (McMANUS) and Louis VANDERPLUYM, was born October 3, 1928. She graduated from Diagonal High School in 1947. On November 27, 1947, Frances married Ted "Junior" RICKER in Maloy. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Modern Mothers Club.

Survivors include her husband, Ted "Junior" RICKER of Mount Ayr; two daughters, Tenette (husband Dale) STEPHENS of Grinnell and Marsha NOEL of Kellerton; two sisters, Martena MOBLEY of Benton and Lucille JOHNSON of Lehigh; brother-in-law Bob (wife Lucy) RICKER of Mount Ayr; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her brother Paul VANDERPLUYM and sister Vedeva REES.
