NOTICE of DEATH.

DIED-- February 4th, 1874, Mrs. Jane RICHARDS, wife of Mr. John RICHARDS, of Ringgold County Iowa, aged 23 years, nine months and nine days.

The subject of the above notice was, before her marriage Miss Jane LARIMER, daughter of Asher LARIMER, an old settler of Ringgold County and a ruling elder of the U. P. congregation of Mount Ayr, Iowa.

The deceased was married to Mr. RICHARDS on the 4th day of April, 1873, and in less than one year left him and a (sic) infant son to mourn her loss. In early life she gave evidence of love for the Savior, and made a public profession of her faith in connection with the U. P. church at Mt. Ayr, at the age of sixteen.

She adorned the profession she made through life by a walk and conversation becoming the Gospel. Go'd word was a light to her feet. In her intercourse with others she always manifested a tender sympathy, ever greeting them with a smile that told in language stronger than words the tender love she possessed for those with whom she mingled. All who knew her fell that a kind and tender friend has gone. But that our loss is her gain is a feeling that possesses the mind of everyone who knew her, and especially those who stood beside her bed during her dying moments, for although her suffering was severe in the extreme faith beyond this world of pain and sorrow to that land of rest, where God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; where there shall be no more death, neight sorrow, nor crying; neither shall there be any more pain. It is seldom our privilege to witness such triumphs in death. Whena sorrowing husband, father and mother, brothers and sisters and other friends stood by her bedside expressing their sorrow in tears she could say to them with all the confidence of a dying child of God, do not weep for me. I am not afraid to die, and bidding adieu to all until the resurection morn, she closed her eyes but not her lips for she died with the words of that sweet song of the dying saint upon her lips: "Yea though I walk in Death's dark vale," &e. And when she had sung with a confidence seldom witnesses in a departing one the closing words of the sweet song, "And in God's house forevermore my dwelling place shall be" she fell to sleep in Jesus. NOTE: Jane (LARIMER), wife of John C. RICHARDS, died at the age of 23 years, 11 months and 9 days with interment at Eugene Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
