OBITUARY - RAYMOND "PAT" RICE

Raymond "Pat" RICE, 87, of Kellerton died April 6, 2004, at Clearview home in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Rick HAWKINS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in his name to be decided later.

Mr. RICE, son of Dency L. (YOUNG) and Lawrence J. RICE, was born July 3, 1916, in Audubon. He graduated from Ellston High School in 1934. On January 19, 1939, he married Iola F. CATTERSON in Creston. He was a farmer. He was a member of a saddle club.

Survivors include five daughters, Judith MOTT of Pacific City, Ore., Patty (husband Billie) WIMER of Grant City, Mo., Karen (husband Gary) WELLS of Henderson, Nev., and Vickey ADAMS and Mickey DENNIS, both of Des Moines; two brothers, Bob (wife Audrey) RICE of Hawaii and Gary (wife Mary Ellen) RICE of Rapid City, S.D.; three sisters, Patricia KING of Salem, Ore., Tye (husband Bill) WYESS of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tini LAKOWSKE of Salem, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Marjorie RICE of Jacksonville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant children Alice and Raymond RICE; a son-in-law, Stuart MOTT; three brothers, Whitey, Russell and Howard RICE; and two sisters, Phyllis Grey and Eleanor HUNTER.
