DEATH of W. J. REED.

Died, on Sabbath, April 22d, 1894, Mr. W. J. REED of Poe township, aged 34 years and 1 day. Mr. REED was born April 21, 1860 in Beaver county, Pa., where he resided until 1881 when he came with his mother's family to Ringgold county. They soon bought a home in Poe township where they have since lived. Mr. REED's general health has not been good for some years. He spent the three previous winters in Louisiana for the sake of the mild climate. This however only gave him temporary relief. He was noted for his quiet agreeable manner and thus had the good will of all. He lost his father when not yet three years old. Early the cares of home came to him, and under the perplexing cares of life he acted nobly, and did his part well. He was a great deal to his mother, and the home, all the years of his life. He leaves a mother and brother [Willis A. G. REED] to mourn his death. The funeral took place from the home in Poe township Tuesday, April 24, 1894, and was conducted by Rev. H. T. JACKSON, and the interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery [Mount Ayr].
