DEATH of EDITH EWAN.

Miss Edith EWAN died at the home of her father, C. EWAN, last Thursday morning at 9 o'clock after an illness of only ten days. A post mortem examination was held which showed that her death was caused by suppurative peritonetis.

She was born July 6, 1889, and was 16 years and 10 months old. As a member of the Sunday school and high school she was faithful and attentive and always found in her place. She possessed an amiable and lovable disposition and number her friends by the score. The members of the high school decorated her desk in the school room with flowers and crape (sic) and attended the funeral in a body. The funeral services were held Saturday at 10 o'clock a.m. at the Methodist church, conducted by her pastor, Dr. W. C. MARTIN. Six of her classmates, Misses Ethel DUNNING, Gertrude PRESTON, Gertie MERRILL, Mamie HERN, Maggie DOWLING, and Dee CASE, acted as pall bearers. The interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. The bereaved father, sister and brothers have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their sad affliction.

NOTE: Edith's mother Elizabeth S. EWAN died in 1882 and was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr., Iowa.
