OBITUARY - ALVA COLE

Alva COLE, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. COLE, was born October 27, 1889, and died July 30, 1897, aged 7 years, 9 months and 3 days. Interment was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery [Ringgold County, Iowa] July 31.

It was hard to give our darling up.
But oh, one great joy we know -
He is safe in Jesus evermore.
We miss thee from our home, dear,
We miss thee from they place;
A shadow o'er our lives is cast.
We miss they little clattering tongue;
Here is they vacant chair,
We miss thee everywhere.
