OBITUARY - WILLIS MAC CLEMONS

Willis Mac CLEMONS, son of Mac and Etta CLEMONS, was born January 14, 1900, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, and departed this life January 9, 1928, at the age of 27 years, 11 months and 26 days.

At an early age he became interested in religion and was for several years a regular attendant at the Christian Bible school, being a member of the boys' class taught by Rev. L. C. SWAN, and at the age of 13, during the revival meeting conducted by Robert WHISTON, made the good confession, and was baptized and became identified with the Church of Christ.

He was united in marriage to Miss Cora DICKERSON May 7, 1919, and the home was established in Mount Ayr. He was identified with his father in business for a number of years, until three years ago when he became afflicted with tuberculosis, since which time he became constantly weaker. About three months ago he planned to go to Colorado in the hope that the climate might be beneficial to his health, but on account of his weakened condition, the plan was abandoned and for two months previous to his death he was bedfast. During the long illness he received the constant care of his devoted wife, father and mother and other relatives, to whom the sympathy of the community is extended in the hour of grief.

Surviving him are his wife and parents, two brothers, Loran of Byers, Kan.; Joe at home; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche STAMPER of Diagonal and Mrs. Minnie FROST of Mount Ayr. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers.

Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist church, beling conducted by the pastor, Rev. Wm. J. COULSTON, assisted by Rev. W. Harold SMITH, pastor of the Church of Christ. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].
