NOTICE of DEATH

DIED - David CLAYTON, Jr., on Friday, May, 28, of of (sic) dropsy. He had not been sick long, having returned from the west only about a month before. He was a good-hearted, honest boy, and the loss is a grevious blow to his mother.

NOTE: David CLAYTON, Jr. was born in 1852, New York and died May 28, 1886, Ringgold County, Iowa. He was interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery near Mount Ayr, Iowa. David was the son of David M. CLAYTON, Sr. and Maria (?) CLAYTON. Both David Sr. and Maria were born in Ireland. David Sr. died at the age of 62 years and 6 months on May 4, 1881. Maria died at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 6 days on February 22, 1909. David Sr. and Maria were interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery near Mount Ayr. Their gravestone is pictured at right.
