OBITUARY - MARY (GRAY) CAMPFIELD

Mary GRAY was born in Dunhamshire, England, December 11, 1850, and died at her home near Kellerton, Ringgold county, Iowa, January 2, 1926, aged 75 years and 22 days. When three years old she, with her parents, immigrated to this country and settled in Pennsylvania and in 1865 they came to Washington county, Iowa. On Christmas day, 1876, she was united in marriage to Charles CAMPFIELD. To this union six children were born: George, at home; Lloyd, of Fedora, S. D.; Isabel DUKES, of Ellston, Iowa; Grace EAGLE, of Baker, Oregon; Clarence, of Kansas City, Mo.; Fern STAGNER, of Kansas City, Mo.; and also seventeen grandchildren. Of these one great grandchild, one sister and three brothers survive to mourn her loss. The surviving sister and brother are: Mrs. Anna McCARTNEY, of Chicago; George of Omaha, Neb.; Henry, of Chicago, and Henry of Washington county, Iowa.

The deceased settled in Ringgold county, Iowa, forty-five years ago and for 35 years she has lived on the home farm. Since living on this farm she united with the M. E. church in Beaconsfield, Iowa. On Christmas eve Mrs. CAMPFIELD was stricken with paralysis from which she never rallied. All was done that loving hands and kind hearts could do, but to no avail and on Saturday evening, January the second, she passed peacefully away to be with her Savior.

The funeral was held at the home at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, Rev. K. E. NESBIT, pastor of the M. E. church in Ellston, delivering the sermon, and the remains were followed to the Ellston cemetery where interment took place.

Card of Thanks.

The family and relatives wish, through these columns, to express their gratitude to all who have manifested their kindness to us during our hour of sorrow and bereavment.
