DEATH of MRS. CHARLES CAIN

After a critical illness of more than a year's duration Mrs. Charles [Annie E. (MULL)] CAIN passed away Saturday night at the home in east Mount Ayr. At the death of Mrs. CAIN the community mourns with the grief-stricken family. During the long months of illness, during which relief was sought through the aid of specialists at the University hospital at Iowa City, she was courageous and hopeful. After several months of illness in October of last year she went to the hospital at Iowa City where her condition was found to be such that little hope was given for recovery, but all that was humanly possible was done and a few weeks ago she returned to the hospital for further examination and treatment, but despite the efforts of skilled physicians and the tender and loving care of husband and children and the best efforts of trained nurses, she gradually grew weaker until the end.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Church of Christ, being conducted by F. D. AUGSTINE of Benton, assisted by T. S. RHOADES, and the burial was in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr, Iowa].

Annie E., daughter of Riley and Lyda MULL, was born in Harrison county, Missouri, March 8, 1887. She died July 26, 1930, at the age of 43 years, four months and 18 days. In the year 1903 the family moved to Ringgold county, Iowa, locating near Mount Ayr, and on March 9, 1905, she was united in marriage to Charles CAIN. Mr. and Mrs. CAIN established their home in Benton, where they resided for a number of years before moving to Mount Ayr. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. CAIN, all of whom with the husband and father survive. The children are Stella (Mrs. Dean SHELDON) of Denver, Colo.; Miles of Denver, Colo.; Milo of El Monte, Calif.; Wilbur, Aldeen, Doreen and Madonna at home.

Mrs. CAIN was a good wife and mother, devoting her time and energy to service of those she loved, and constantly, until the death summons came, was planning for the comfort of her family. She was a member of the Mount Ayr Church of Christ and her death marks the passing of a true christian mother.

Besides the husband and children, she leaves to mourn four brothers and two sisters - Morrison, Walter, Benjamin and Charles MULL, living near Mount Ayr; Mrs. Amanda JAMES, Columbus, Neb.; Mrs. Julia GLENN, Kingman, Kan., and her aged mother.
