OBITUARY - Mrs. NANCY BURNS

Nancy BURNS was born in Owens county, Indiana, July 24, 1842, and passed to the life beyond November 30, 1927, at at the age of 85 years, four months and six days. She was united in marriage to Thomas BURNS in the year 1863 and to this union six children were born, namely: Ulysses P. BURNS of Rogersville, Mo.; Sarah E. DADY, Mason, Neb.; Curtis Emmett BURNS, Frank Delbert BURNS, Kellerton, Iowa; two daughters, Mary J. GROVES and Frances Ellen HARRIMAN, have preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. BURNS moved to Ringgold county in 1871 and had been a resident of the Kellerton neighborhood for 56 years. Her husband passed to his heavenly home May 19, 1899.

Mrs. Gertie DRAKE grew to womanhood in the home of Mrs. BURNS and Mrs. BURNS was as an own mother to her until her marriage.

Besides her sons and daughters Mrs. BURNS leaves twelve grandchildren and thirty- great-grandchildren to mourn her loss as well as many close friends.

Mrs. BURNS had been a member of the Christian church since 1899.

Funeral services were held at the Kellerton Church of Christ Sunday afternoon at 2:30, by Rev. W. Harold SMITH, pastor of the Mount Ayr Church of Christ. [Interment was at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.]

NOTE: Thomas BURNS, husband of Nancy, was born in 1833. He was interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa.
