Tingley duo place at National Cattle Dog Championships

The 2015 U.S.B.C.H.A. held the National Cattle Dog Championships in Leeton, MO. All breeds of dogs are allowed throughout U.S. and Canada to qualify for the competition. Points accumulated through the year bring top dogs to make a run at the championship.

Two divisions are held. One division being the Open Class, consisting of professional handlers with dogs of any age. The second class consists of professional handlers with three-year-olds or younger dogs, called the Nursery class.

Competition was held for four days. Three days of elimination were held bringing the top 15 open dogs and the top 10 nursery dogs to the final day.

Bob Johnson of Tingley finished Reserve Champion with his nine-year-old border collie named Ruby. Ruby was a national champion in 2010.

Niyole Livingston of Tingley finished Reserve Champion in Nursery competition with her three-year-old border collie Tiff.

Tiff also finished 10th in open competition and won the traveling trophy for high point qualifing open dog at the competition.
