I am pretty certain that the father, William F. Sergeant married Effie Johnson, adopted a daughter Chloie Sergeant and lived in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa where he died on 31 May 1932 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery there. He was born on 8 July 1879 in New York. He is enumerated in the 1920, 1925 and 1930 censuses in Council Bluffs.
