Looking for information about and ancestors of James Morrison, born between 1852 and 1865. Possibly in Ohio. He married Emma A. Roland. At various times, lived in Rosebud, Deep River, and Montezuma, Iowa. I found a James b. Ohio, Eanna (sp?) b. Illinois, George b.1878 Iowa, and Cloyd b. Illinois in the 1880 Census for Lanark, Carroll Co., Illinois. Emma was born in Illinois, perhaps they moved back for a while before returning to Iowa? I have search many of the Poweshiek County Iowa sites, and unable to find James. Anyone have this connection?
His children were George W., Frederick H., Archibald C., Elsworth or Elsmore C., Lloyd, Cloyd, and Hazel. I think James passed away between 1900 and 1930. I find Emma Brigham and Cloyd in the 1930 Census, in Des Moines, living in the same household. They are listed on the same page as her son George and his family. (Emma married several times, and one of her husbands was named Brigham.) According to the family bible, Hazel married and moved to Mt Pleasant.
George William Morrison was our grandfather, he was born in 1878, either in Rosebud, or Deep River Iowa. Also, was the constable of Swan, Iowa. Married Hazel Dalton. They lived in Des Moines, had 16 children, moved to Missouri abt 1950.
I have tons of info about George and Hazel, but very little on James and his life and lineage. Looking for specific Morrison's is very much like finding that needle in a haystack! Any help would be appreciated.
