Great grandfather James Henry McDonald, born in Poweshiek county in 1855. He ie reported to have married a woman named Lucy sometime before 1890. James McDonald died in 1922 or so in Drumright, Oklahoma. Family legend has it that two young men from Iowa came to the funeral and stated that they were his sons. I assume that Lucy died sometime after the children were born and they were sent back to Iowa to other family.

I would love to know Lucy's last name and hope to be able to find the offspring of her children since they are my cousins.
