My Assistant Coordinator, Marilyn Holmes, saw your posted queries, and came up with this right off the bat:

The Scott county IAGenWeb site would be the appropriate place to seek more information regarding the actual marriage. There may not be much. Prior to 1880, state law did not require the recording of more than the names of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding ceremony.

I believe Marilyn is going to look for Sarah Thompson's obit, when next she delves into the ancient newspaper files for the county, so there *may* be more information forthcoming.
