Capt. Nathaniel W. Clark

I am interested in finding out any biographical information about "Captain" Nathaniel Winslow Clark. He was an early settler in Grinnell, Iowa. I know birth, death, and marriage dates, but I know relatively little besides that.

I'd like to find out information about his history as a captain, his occupation in Grinnell, and what he was like as a person (i.e., temperament, beliefs, etc.).

I would also be very interested in finding any letters (or diaries) written by Nathaniel W. Clark or his wife, Abigail Irene (Park) Clark.

Nathaniel W. Clark was born on March 4, 1806 in Searsport, Maine. He married Abigail Irene Park on Feb. 4, 1829, in Searsport, Maine. He died on Jan. 25, 1868. Abigail was born on Nov. 9 1811, and she died on March 9, 1888.
