ROBERT 'BOB' E. PIERCE

Robert "Bob" E. Pierce, 85, formerly of Grinnell and Tampa, Fla., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at the Clarence (Iowa) Nursing Home.

Graveside services were scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 24, at 12 noon at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. A luncheon will follow at the Pizza Ranch in Grinnell. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association and may be sent to Eileen at 408 2nd Ave., Clarence, Iowa 52216. Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence is in charge of the arrangements. Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.chapmanfh.com.

Bob was born April 9, 1933, in Grinnell to Marshall and Clarice Guyer Pierce. He married Roberta Hansen on June 27, 1952; she died in 1968. He later married Eileen Case Meyer on June 1, 1973.

Bob enjoyed golfing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, ice cream, Pepsi and watching birds, and was on many bowling leagues.

He is survived by his wife Eileen of Clarence; children Cathy Buck of Grinnell, David Pierce of Montezuma, Marvin Pierce of Aurora, Colo., Gary Pierce of Aurora, Colo., Diane Mindrup of Australia, Karen Meyer of North Liberty, and Richard Meyer of Mechanicsville; sisters Carol Crawford, Betty Paul and Nadine Allen, all of Grinnell; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles; sisters Bernie Brown and Joan Stevenson; and an infant sister.
