June 18, 1912DAVID ALBERT SANDERS
Last Saturday afternoon the mortal remains of David Albert Sanders were laid to rest by the side of his wife, sister and parents in beautiful Elmwood. He was born in New Ipswich, N.H., February 5th, 1842. He came West with his brothers, Howard and Lucius, in 1864, and located in Grinnell, where he lived until his death June 13th. On March 10, 1880, he was united in marriage to Miss Hester Clifford of Oneida, Ill. Three daughters, Hester, Fanny and Mary, survive him.
Twenty years he bore with patience the slow progress of "Creeping Palsy," a disease that baffled the skill of physicians. The last 10 years he was confined to his home and death came as a blessed relief from suffering.
