AN OBITUARY OF
JOHN HARTMAN

John George Hartman was born in they year 1851, in Germany, and passed away November 21, 1934, at the age of 83 years.

In 1884 he and his wife immigrated to this county (America). He lived first in Nebraska, then in Missouri, moving from there to Wisconsin, then to Iowa, settling in Poweshiek county in 1909.

Mr. Hartman is survived by two children, John Hartman of Searsboro, Ia., and Maggie Hasley, also of Searsboro. He also leaves some grandsons and granddaughters to mourn his passing.

The funeral was held at the Blue Point Methodist church, Friday, Nov. 23, at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon, conducted by E.M. Gregson. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
