William J. Hinegardner, 67, of Grinnell died of cancer Sunday Nov. 26, at the Senior Home in Montezuma. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Organist was Alice Underwood, and casket bearers were Don Erquist, Jim Arendt, Max Allen, Roger Sunleaf, Wilbur Allen and Bill Bernard. Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery.

The son of Carl and Lenore Morrow Hinegardner, he was born Aug 27, 1928, in Montezuma. He was a 1946 graduate of Montezuma High School. He worked for several years at the Monte Café and the bowling alley. He also lived for a short time in Arizona. Most recently he lived in Grinnell and was employed by Grinnell College. He had been a resident of the Senior Home since October.
Mr. Hingegardner was a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges and the American Legion.
