October 10, 1928 - June 24, 2010

Kenneth M. Siemens, age 81, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. Ken was born October 10, 1928 in Goldfield, Iowa. He moved to Joplin in 1999 after spending 25 years in Grove, Oklahoma. Ken graduated from Ozark Bible College in 1964. While in college he ministered to the Center Point Christian Church, east of Carthage, Mo. from 1960-1965. He ministered with the Madison Church of Christ in Brooklyn, Iowa from 1965-1973. He was the minister with the Grove, Okla. Christian Church from 1973-1992. Ken was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriett Siemens, on April 26, 1991. He married Carol Curlee Feb. 8, 1992 in Grove, Okla. and she survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Stephen Siemens and wife Barbara, Des Moines, Iowa, Timothy Siemens and wife Dianne, Brooklyn, Iowa, and James Siemens and wife Deborah, Watertown, South Dakota, one daughter Suanne Rutherford and husband David, Clovis, Calif., two brothers, Don Siemens, Collinsville, Okla. and Bernard Siemens, Rochester, Minn., 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Ken’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin with his son, Stephen Siemens officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Another Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 1, 2010 at Park Church of Christ in Goldfield, Iowa. Memorial contributions are requested to Spring River Christian Village, or Cookson Hills Christian Home in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
