EUNICE HOWARD

Eunice M. Howard, 94, of the Mayflower died Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Mayflower Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be conduced at 1 p.m. Friday at the West Branch Cemetery in West Branch, with the Rev. Daniel I. Ogata of Grinnell officiating. The Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was the daughter of John and Frances Moore Howard and was born Sept. 25, 1899, in Cedar County. She graduated from Tipton High School and later received her teaching certificate from the University of Northern Iowa. She then taught in Cedar, Keokuk and Wright counties.

In 1950 she moved to Grinnell and worked as a librarian at Grinnell College. She lived at the Mayflower following her retirement.

Surviving are three sisters, Mabel Fiala of Solon, Raechel Billings of Redding, Calif., and E. Elaine Jennings of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents.
