BETHEL G. MULLEN, 99

Mrs. Bethel G. Mullen, 99, of Muscatine, a former resident of Brooklyn, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in the Muscatine Care Center, Muscatine.

Funeral services for Bethel Mullen were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 30, at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Rev. David Rogula, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiated and the musician was Marilyn Kriegel. Special selections were "Precious Memories," "How Great Thou Art," "Life's Railway to Heaven" and "It Is Well With My Soul." Casket-Bearers were Pam Grimm, Greg Mullen, Tom Mullen, Jeff Mullen, Gavin Whitaker and Derek Minch. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery.

Bethel Gail (Graham) Mullen was born June 22, 1907, near Brooklyn. Her parents were Edward Graham and Thankful Etta Billick Graham. Bethel received her education in a rural school. On May 5, 1926, she was married to Darrell Mullen. They were the parents of five children, Louran, Evelyn, Fred, Hazel and Raymond. Mr. Mullen died in 1961. Mrs. Mullen lived most of her life around Brooklyn moving to Mucatine in 1991.

Surviving are two sons and their wives, Louran and Patty Mullen and Fred and Karen Mullen, all of Muscatine; one daughter and her husband, Evelyn and Jim Baker of Davenport; a brother, George Graham of Sumner, Wash.; eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Hazel; a son, Raymond; a sister, Grace Ochs; a brother, Clyde Graham; and one grandson.
