GRACE NELSON, 77,
DIES OF HEART ATTACK;
FUNERAL TUESDAY

Miss Grace Nelson, passed away very suddenly of a heart attack Saturday afternoon at her home, 832 East street. She would have been 77 years old Sept. 26.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. C.E. Kingsley will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith funeral home with burial in Hazelwood cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Carl E. Child, Ross Coutts, Howard Hyde, Ted Kann, Charles Manly and Bob Ray. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bohstedt will provide the music and Mrs. Edward Bohstedt and Mrs. Howard Hyde will be in charge of flowers.

Miss Nelson was born in Grinnell, Sept. 26, 1877, the daughter of Samuel and Annie Campbell Nelson. Her father was one of Grinnell's pioneer merchants, operating a double front general store, groceries and dry goods, on the corner of the alley east of the Grinnell Savings bank. She attended Grinnell schools and graduated from Grinnell high school.

For about 12 years she was employed at the college and for the remainder of her life has been a housekeeper.

She is survived by one sister, Miss Harriett Nelson, the last of a family of four children. Her brother, W.J. Nelson, former postmaster, died last November and another brother, Samuel, Jr., passed away many years ago.
