RITES TODAY FOR MR. WILEY

Raymond H. Wiley, 79, died Saturday morning, Nov 15 in Newton.

Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the Grinnell First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The son of Henry and Ida Strong Wiley, he was born Feb. 10, 1901, at Malcom. He attended the Malcom schools and worked in produce houses in Malcom, Boone and Jewell.

On Oct. 26, 1930, he was married to Florence Evelyn Smith at Toledo. The couple had six children. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Wiley lived in Malcom for a year where he operated the Swift Produce Co. From 1932 to 1934, he was employed at the Wilson Produce Co. in Reinbeck. The couple later returned to Montezuma where he was a timekeeper for the W.P.A. In 1941, they came to Grinnell, and Mr. Wiley worked at the county offices and later served as custodian at the Poweshiek County National Bank until retiring in 1973.

Mr. Wiley is survived by his wife; his children, Norma Fay Harris of Waterloo, Jack D. Wiley of Grinnell, Warren H. Wiley of Grinnell, Clyde L. Wiley of Newton, Joyce L. Reiman of Newton, and Dorothy Strong of Oswego, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Dellmar Wiley, and a sister, Wilma Neville of Malcom. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Blanche Wiley, Elizabeth Schruby, Edna Titcomb and Helen Wiley; and two brothers, Matt and John Wiley.
