He worked for the Treasury Department for the next 35 years and he and his family lived in Detroit, Mich., Huntington, W. Va. and Cincinnati, Ohio. He retired as chief of Appellate Branch Office in Cincinnati. He then began working for a local Cincinnati law firm as a tax attorney. He and Floriene were also involved with square and round dancing in the Greater Cincinnati area for 20 years.

Marvin was a member of the Methodist Church and was actively involved at the Lakewood Community Methodist Church, Lakewood, Calif., serving as treasurer and helping with their expansion and remodeling project. He was a member of Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church in Grosse Pointe, Mich., Huntington United Methodist Church in Huntington, W.Va., and was a member of Anderson Hills United Methodist Church.
