FUNERAL SERVICES
FOR CULLEN GREGORY
THIS AFTERNOON

Funeral services for Cullen Gregory were held at 2:30 this afternoon, conducted by the Rev. William Welsh, at the James Funeral Home. The services at the grave were in charge of the Elks lodge, which attended in a body.

Music was provided by Mrs. Margery Bouma and Mrs. Roscoe Dempster. Pall bearers were Bert Whitaker, John Newton, John Edwards, Charles Hink, Carl Child and Lewis Koger.

Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Oda Gregory of Kingston, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gregory, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Gregory and Mr. and Mrs. Littleton Gregory of Hamilton, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Willie Gregory of Montezuma and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ballard of Redwood Falls, Minn.

Cullen Gregory died in the University hospital at Iowa City on May 27, at the age of 67 years, two weeks and one day. He was the son of Martha and Eben Gregory, who preceded him in death several years ago. He was born near Monticello, Ky., May 3, 1877. In 1900 he came to Iowa and engaged in farming, later becoming farm managegr for J.H. McMurray, a position which he held for 23 years. He then moved to a small acreage on South Broad street.

He was married to Gladys (Ballard) Ashing June 6, 1926. He was the second son of a family of eight boys. The seven brothers who survive him are J.S. Gregory of Longmont, Colo.; John of Oakdale, Calif.; Oda of Kingston, Mo.; Charlie, Lewis and Littleton of Hamilton, Mo., and Willie of Montezuma.
