ALFRED EARNEST DILLE

Alfred Earnest, son of William and Ellenora Dille was born Oct. 14, 1891, at Frederic, Iowa, and died Jan. 3, 1944, at the age of 52 years, 2 months and 19 days.

At the age of 21, he moved with his parents to Albia, where he united with the Methodist church and remained a faithful member, attending services as often as health permitted.

He was married Oct. 7, 1928, to Gladys Pote, daughter of Irwin and Lena Pote of Stuart. To them one son, Norman Everett, was born July 22, 1929.

Alfred came to Grinnell in 1924 with the present Grinnell Oleanders, but for the past 10 years has operated a radio repair shop at 925 Main St. His health has never been the best and three weeks ago he contracted flu and pneumonia causing a weakened heart, from which he could not recover.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. C.D. Loose. Music was provided by Mrs. Margery Bouma and Mrs. Roscoe Dempster. Pall bearers were Ross Coutts, Ray George, William Hoffstatter, William Laymiller, John Mehlin and Wendell Parmley. Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery.
