THOMAS A. BROWN

Thomas A. Brown, 18, of 3320 Highway 63 North, Malcom, died Sunday, June 2, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines of head injuries he suffered in an accidental fall from a truck Saturday evening.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Herrick Chapel on the Grinnell College campus, with the Rev. John Epperson, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner.

Casket bearers were Tim Dean Brown, Chad Collins, Brad DeLong, Brian DeLong, Anthony Englebarts, Randy Paul, Michael Stoner and Jeremy Williams. Honorary bearers were members of the Grinnell High School Class of 2002. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He was born Oct. 1, 1983, in Grinnell to Thomas E. and Joyce E. Berry Brown. He was raised in Grinnell and attended Grinnell schools. He recently graduated from Grinnell High School and had worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Kelcy's Restaurant and Grinnell College.

He is survived by his parents; his twin brother, Timothy; his paternal grandmother, Mary Moffitt of Kellogg; his maternal grandparents, Gene and Dorothy Berry of Grinnell; and his paternal great-grandfather, Edward C. Anderson of Marshalltown.
