AUTO INJURIES
FATAL TO HOY

Funeral services were held in West Des Moines Saturday for Robert F. Hoy, 46, a native of Brooklyn, who died early Thursday from injuries received in an auto accident in Des Moines.

A family spokesman said Hoy apparently fell asleep at the wheel of his auto and it went out of control and struck a tree. He died a few hours after the mishap at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital. He sustained chest, head and hip injuries.

He was a member of a well-known Brooklyn musical family. His brother, Don Hoy, has an orchestra and works out of Des Moines.

After graduation from Brooklyn high school in 1938, he attended the State University of Iowa and served as an Air Force pilot in World War II.

Following the war he lived in Nebraska where he was a professional musician until entering Drake University Law School in 1949. At the time of his death he was an adjustor with the J. Lee Hills Claims Service in Des Moines.

In addition to his brother, Don, he is survived by his widow, Ann of 1416 Locust Street, West Des Moines; a daughter, Carol, a sophomore at Drake University; a son, Robert, a sophomore at Valley High School, West Des Moines; and his mother, Doris, a teacher at Victor.
