FUNERAL SERVICES
FOR MERLE FOSTER
AT KANSAS CITY

Services for Merle Eugene Foster, 62, of 10010 Flora Drive, Kansas City, Mo., who died in a car accident on U.S. Highway 71 at U.S. Highway 40 were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Mount Moriah chapel. Burial was in Mount Moriah cemetery at Kansas City.

Merle, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Foster, was born in Poweshiek County near Grinnell on Sept. 13, 1905. He graduated from Searsboro High School in 1924 and William Penn College in 1928. He taught in the rural schools and also at Davis City, Iowa.

Later, Mr. Foster resided in Illinois for a number of years and served in the U.S. army for a time. He married Margaret Bradfield of Kansas City on Jan. 6, 1943. They were the parents of one daughter, Jean Ann Funk, of Milwaukee, Wis. Following his army service they made their home in Kansas City. For the past 18 years Mr. Foster was a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Kansas City. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret B. Foster of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Funk, of Milwaukee; his mother, Mrs. J.E. Foster of Grinnell; three brothers, Arthur of Rockford, Ill., Thomas of West Brooklyn, Ill., Carrol of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Melvin Miller of Montezuma; other relatives and many friends.
