BEATRICE VIOLET FOUBERT

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, July 15, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English for Beatrice Violet Foubert, 83, who died following an extended illness on Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at the Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Montezuma.

The Rev. John Ling officiated, and burial was in the Millersburg Cemetery at Millersburg.

Beatrice was born near Waterloo on Feb. 6, 1917, the daughter of Barney and Nora May Helm. She grew up in Toledo and Des Moines.

On Oct. 26, 1936, she married George Glenwood Foubert in Des Moines. They lived in Richmond, Calif., during the war years and moved to the Millersburg community where they lived until 1965. They later lived in Grant and Villisca. After George's death, she lived near her children, moving to Deep River in 1997.

She loved her flowers and doing needlework. She became a resident of the Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in January 2000.

Beatrice was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald James Foubert, her husband in February 1984, an infant grandson, Robbie Robinson, her sisters, Roberta Postel and Marie Shaddle, and brothers, Perry, Lloyd, Vesper and Bernard Helm.

She is survived by three sons, Keith Foubert of Deep River, Melvin Foubert and his wife, Karen, of What Cheer, and Douglas Foubert and his wife, Audrey, of Deep River; three daughters, Carolyn Phippen of Atlantic, Sandy (Mrs. Kenneth) Stoddard of Plattsmouth, Neb., and Jo Ann Robinson of Kansas City, Mo. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
