Funeral services were held Friday morning, Sept. 15, at Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn for Charles C. Jones, 93, of Brooklyn, who died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, in Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell.

The Rev. David Rogula officiated, and the organist was Angie Hawkins and Calvin Roudabush was the soloist. Special selections were "Precious Memories" and "Amazing Grace." Flower attendants were Nancy and Roger Roudabush.

Honorary casket bearers were John L. Hand, Giles Kline, Ray Williams and James Moyer. Casket bearers were Terry Johnson, Kenny Cadden, Jerome Kline, John M. Hand, Delmar Ford and Jim Johnson. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery.

Charles Clifton Jones, son of Harlan Jones and Mary Tesar Jones, was born April 20, 1907, on a faarm in Madison Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa. Mr. Jones was a lifelong resident of Poweshiek County. He received his education in a rural school and was engaged in farming the rest of his life.

He married Violet Charlotte Johnson on March 14, 1923, at Rock Island, Ill. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau, and the Grange.

His wife, and one brother, Harvey Jones, preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, Richard of Brooklyn and Paul and his wife, Doris of Brooklyn; four grandchildren, Traci Dolash and her husband, Doug, Allan Jones, Larry Jones and his wife, Julie, and Tammy Jones; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established. Nevenhoven Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
