LOLA B. BRAACK

Lola B. Braack, 81, of Grinnell, formerly of Lynnville, died Monday, Oct 1, at Friendship Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the Lynnville Friends Church, with the Rev. Marvin Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathan Westercamp, Adam Carlson, Rick Jansen, Wes Vos, Jeff Lanser and T.C. Cunningham. Honorary bearers will be Amy Cunningham, Debbie Lanser, Staci Jansen and Terri Vos. Burial will be a Lynnville Friends Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home. The family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

The daughter of Johannes "Hans" and Gertrude Glissman Brummond, she was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Pender, Neb. She was raised in Bancroft, Neb., and was a graduate of Bancroft High School.

She was married to Lyle Fleener Feb. 18, 1944, in Las Vegas, Nev., and to Duane Braack Feb. 28, 1969, in Lynnville.

She lived most of her life in the Lynnville and Grinnell areas and was employed for many years at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. She attended Lynnville Friends Church and later Grinnell Christian Church. She had been a resident of Friendship Manor since 1995.

Surviving are three daughters, Ricki Lanser of Pella, Rita Carlson of Lynnville and Shelley Westercamp of Lynnville; two sisters, Lorrayn Raasch of Porterville, Calif., and Lynette Schockley of Oakhurst, Calif.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one grandchild.
