Mrs. Lola E. Oaks, 77, mother of former Grinnellian Mrs. Gerald (Phyllis) Carpenter, died July 23 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services for Mrs. Oaks were held July 26 at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Betty McDaniel, Mrs. Phyllis Carpenter and Mrs. Barbara Foreman, all of Des Moines; a brother, Max Harvey of Des Moines; and eight grand-children.
