SCOTT ARMSTRONG

Scott Armstrong, 51, of Grinnell died July 22, 2006, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Chariton Cemetery in Chariton.

He was born Aug. 3, 1954, in Ottumwa, the son of Richard and Lois Ann Armstrong. He later moved to Carlisle, where he graduated from Carlisle High School. He continued his education at Iowa State University and received a master's degree at Drake University.

He was briefly employed in the Des Moines metro area prior to moving to Grinnell, where he worked at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in the human resources department.

He enjoyed watching sports on TV, gardening and cooking.

He is survived by his father, Richard of Bella Vista, Ark.; a son, Ryan Armstrong of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Julie Grotewold of Oskaloosa; a brother, Dan Armstrong of Schwetzingan, German; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Ann Armstrong.
