"JIMMY" WADSWORTH PASSED
AWAY SUDDENLY
--------------------------
Grinnell's Own Boy Dies
At His Parents'
Home.
--------------------------

With inexpressible sadness to everyone in Grinnell who knew Arthur "Jimmy" Wadsworth comes the news of his unexpected death last night at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Wadsworth, on Main street. "Jimmy" was truly Grinnell's own boy. He had endeared himself to the whole community and few people of any age, will be missed more than he. His bright face, his friendly smile and his wholly lovable nature have made for "Jimmy" Wadsworth a host of friends and admirers, whose friendship and admiration have been tinged with a deeper affection and who, in short, loved him almost as their very own.

His illness was brief, and his death came as a shock to the family. Following a paroxysm of choking, he passed away last night of croup.

"Jimmy" has always been a great favorite. Sturdy, handsome, unusually intelligent, he was a splendid type of wholesome, healthy American boyhood. He was an entertainer, an acrobat and athletic performer of genuine ability. As the official mascot of high school and college baseball teams, "Jimmy" made several trips with the athletes and his performances between periods on the floor made him a big favorite in many cities in Iowa. Through the influence of Senator T.C. Cessna, he has been a page in the senate at the last two sessions of the Iowa legislature, and here he was a prime favorite. News of his death will be heard today with genuine sadness by many of Iowa's high officials, among them Governor Nate Kendall, who was never too busy to return the smile that always accompanied "Jimmy's" greeting.

But great and unusual as was Jimmy's popularity abroad, the summons of death falls heaviest on his mother and father and brothers and sisters. Their affection was shared by all--their grief will be shared by all, but the smile that can never again gladden the household, the sunny, lovable boy who was, after all, their boy, is gone. He has been a good boy--a boy who promised to develop into a splendid type of manhood, and in his short years he ahs given love and comfort to this family, and his life, though all too brief, ahs been rich in those qualities which can never die and which will remain forever to console and comfort.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock.
