SERVICES FOR
JAMES CRAIG, 79

Funeral services for James Craig, 79, 903 Summer St., will be held at 1:30 Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Craig died suddenly at a Des Moines hospital Wednesday morning.

Officiating at the services will be the Rev. L.V. Kuebrich of St. Mary's Catholic church. Organist will be Mrs. Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers will be Wesley Ahrens, Ross Coutts, Jack Dailey, Tom Sanders, Doc Slagle and Erwin Wang.

Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

Born Aug. 8th, 1880, in County Donegal, Northern Ireland, he was the son of John and Sarah Sweeney Craig. He was married in Ireland to Minnie Agnes Smyth, who preceded him in death in 1947.

To this union were born four children: Mrs. Buel (Sadie) Clary of Bethany, Mo.; Mrs. John L. (Winnifred) Williams and Anna Ethel May, both of Des Moines; and John Craig of Grinnell.

In 1912, he and his wife and oldest daughter left Ireland and came to America and made Iowa their home. He had worked for the Bell Telephone system and for 34 years with the Hawkeye Hail Ins. Co. of Ft. Dodge.

On Dec. 10th, 1949, Mr. Craig was united in marriage with Jessie Love, who survives him. Also surviving are four children, six grandchildren, and two brothers in Ireland.

Mr. Craig was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
