MRS. THOMPSEN SERVICES HELD

Betty Lou Rubendall Thompsen, 49, of Grinnell died Jan. 12 at Grinnell General Hospital after having suffered a heart attack.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thompsen were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Clarion Church of Christ, with the Rev. Carl Lueders of the Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Jim Williams, Edward Rockow, Dan Rubendall, Dan Rutherford, Charles Rubendall and Merle Allen. Honorary bearers were Cleo Reynolds and Jim Hoyt. Mrs. A.M. Andrews was the organist, and Mrs. Clair McOllough was the vocalist.

The daughter of David and Jennie Roosa Rubendall, she was born April 1, 1930. She was raised at Clarion where she was graduated from high school. She worked in Fort Dodge before her marriage to Chris Thompsen on Aug. 2, 1952, at Denison. Following their marriage, they lived at Alden and Schleswig before moving to Grinnell about a year ago. She was associated with her brother in the restaurant business.

Mrs. Thompsen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grinnell.

Survivors include her husband; six children, Donald of Ames, Jennie of Storm Lake, Christie of Iowa Falls, and Mark, Melissa and Jason, all of the family home; her father; one granddaughter; a brother, Ernest L. Rubendall of Grinnell; and two sisters, Ione (Mrs. John Foust Sr.) and Grace (Mrs. Oscar Sporaa), both of Dows.

She was preceded in death by her mother, a sister and two brothers.
