NANCY LEMKE

Nancy Edith Belcher Lemke, 70, died Monday, Jan. 20, at her home after a lengthy illness.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 23, at Smith Funeral Home with David Green, pastor of the Assembly of God officiating. Pallbearers were Albert Lemke, Bill Lemke, Earl Lemke, Gary Lemke, Bill Haines Jr. and Jim Haines. Interment was in Pleasant Township Cemetery at Ewart. Memorial contributions may be made to Grinnell Regional Hospice.

She was born July 29, 1926, the daughter of Roechester and Mabel Viola Marshall Belcher and received her education in the Grinnell schools. She was married Dec. 31, 1943, in Montezuma to Leonard Leslie Lemke. They made their home in Grinnell and she was employed as a seamstress at DeLong's retiring in 1978.

She is survived by her husband Leonard; two daughters, Lynn Phanhamath, Traverse City, Mich., and Lorraine Garcia, Marshalltown; two sons, Leonard Lemke Jr., Montezuma, and Larry Lemke, Grinnell; two sisters, Bertha Moll, Des Moines, and Luvica Flathers, Oronogo, Mo.; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Belcher and one great granddaughter Traci Ann Watson.
