MYRTLE ROBISON,
SERVICE TODAY

Mrs. Myrtle M. Robison, 74, of 1014 High St., the widow of Lewis "Pat" Robison, died Thursday evening (June 15) at Grinnell General Hospital. She had been hospitalized for several weeks.

The daughter of Joseph and Mary Etta Atwood Alexander, she was born Oct. 18, 1897, at Van Cleve, Iowa. She was married to Mr. Robison Dec. 9, 1914, at Newton. The couple had one child, James H. Robison of Grinnell.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Robison farmed in the Grinnell area. Mr. Robison operated a steam threshing ring over a wide area. He later was employed at the Grinnell water plant and the Meadow Gold creamery. Mrs. Robison was a nurses' aide at Community Hospital for 20 years and had also had done special nursing.

Mrs. Robison was a member of the First Friends Church. She is survived by her son Jim; two grandsons, Dr. William I. Robison of Livermore, Calif., and Jerry L. Robison of Howell, Mich.; four great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Earl Alexander of Marshalltown; and a sister, Mrs. Wilma Smothers, also of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 13, 1970 and a sister, Mrs. Lola Plumb.

Funeral services for Mrs. Robison were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Monday) at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Doran B. Morford, pastor of the First Friends Church, officiating. Music was by Mrs. Willard Heffner, organist, and Mrs. Wayne Dayton, vocalist.

Pallbearers included Charles Alexander, Marvin Cummings, Edward Garver, Eugene Hunter, Floyd Hunter, Robert Hunter, Clair Hutchison, and Leonard Robison Jr.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Robison's name may be made to the First Friends Church building fund.
