RITES CONDUCTED

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon for Mrs. Pauline Wheeler, 73, who died Feb. 7 at Grinnell General Hospital.

The Rev. Hugh Shiveley of the First Baptist Church in Grinnell officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mrs. Donald Latcham and Mrs. Ed Bartachek.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Henry Martin, Mrs. Haley Clements, and Mrs. Warren Steen.

Pallbearers were Donald Souter, Clifford Steele, Lyle Patterson, Henry Martin, Lloyd Rice and Dale Larkins. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Wheeler and Glen Wheeler.

Burial was in the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon.

The daughter of Frank and Arenena Evelyn Beason Tarrell (Terrell), Mrs. Wheeler was born May 2, 1896 in Poweshiek County.

On Dec. 7, 1916, she was married to Donald Wheeler who survives. Mr. Wheeler was a chef at Grinnell College until his retirement. The couple had lived in Grinnell since 1955.

Survivors include two brothers--Coleman Tarrell of Oregon and Clark Tarrell of Montezuma, and one sister--Mrs. John (Lilly) McNeal of Grinnell.
