HILDA MARGARET GOWIN

Hilda M. Gowin, 96, of Montezuma, died on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Hilda Margaret (Schurman) Gowin was born on July 13, 1917, in Lacona to Henry and Mary (Walk) Schurman. She was raised and educated in Lacona.

She was united in marriage to Howard Edwin Gowin in Des Moines in 1937. Hilda was a homemaker.

Hilda is survived by her sons, Donald (Janie) Gowin of Silver Lake, Kansas, Michael (Maggie) Gowin of Rochester, Minn., and Gary (Melisssa) Gowin of Montezuma; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn Riche of Louisburg, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Edward Schurman, Herman Schurman, and Marie Wadle.
