SHANE LENDER

Shane G. Lender, 19, of 335 Broad St., Grinnell died of a brain aneurysm Sunday, Sept. 15, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Grinnell Christian Church, with the Rev. Daniel Ogata officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud, and vocalist was Pat Avalos. Pallbearers were Rob Davies, Salvador Dianda, Jeff Lender, Brad Noel, Rick Seeley Jr. and Andrew Waggoner. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Davis Elementary School or the University of Northern Iowa and may be sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home. P.O. Box 368, Grinnell 50112.

The son of Robert and Marcee Ryan Lender, he was born June 4, 1972, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools, graduating from high school here in 1991. He had been attending the University of Northern Iowa.

At Grinnell High School, he was a member of the Drama Club and FYI school newspaper staff. He worked part time for Hy-Vee Food Store and for Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co.

Surviving are his parents; two brothers, Jamie and Rob; one sister, Danielle; his paternal grandmother, Mary Bortell of Grinnell; and his maternal grandmother, Mildred Ryan of Grinnell.
