F.L. HOLMES, 87, SUCCUMBS

Frank L. Holmes, 87, died Sunday at the Odd Fellows Hospital at the IOOF Home, after a long illness. He had lived at the home since March 11, 1940.

Mr. Holmes was born June 29, 1869, at Grinnell, son of John and Ann (Utley) Holmes. Most of his life was spent farming in the Grinnell vicinity. He had made his home at Nevada before coming to Mascon City. He was a member of the Grinnell Odd Fellows Lodge 358, which he joined in 1910.

Surviving are a sister, Lottie McCoy, of California, and a niece, Lottea L. Jones, Breda. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The McAuley and Son Funeral Home is in charge.

FRANK L. HOLMES RITES CONDUCTED AT IOOF CHAPEL

Funeral services for Frank L. Holmes, 87, who died Sudnay at the Odd Fellows Hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon at the IOOF Chapel. Dr. Paul A. Peterson, pastor of Wesley Methodist Church, officiated.

Mrs. Paul Peterson was soloist; Mrs. M.L. Holt, pianist. Odd Fellow burial rites were conducted by Lodge 224 of Mason City. Jack Farrer, acting noble grand, and Leo George, chaplain, were in charge.

Pallbearers were E.D. Barton, Oscar Pedersen, Jerry Sebeniecher, John Graverson, Leo George and Jack Farrer. Burial was in IOOF Memorial Cemetery. The McAuley and Son Funeral Home was in charge.
