SERVICES HELD

Earl Raymond Peters, 62, of Newton, a former resident of Poweshiek County, died Friday night at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.

Funeral services for Mr. Peters were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home in Newton, with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.

Mr. Peters was born Mar. 1, 1912 near Montezuma, the son of Frank and Edna Douglas Peters. He farmed in the Montezuma and Grinnell communities prior to moving to Newton in 1956.

He was married to Lois Holmes Oct. 4, 1933, in Brooklyn.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard of Newton and Roger of Rte. 4, Grinnell; six grandchildren; and a brother, Delmar Peters of Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Austin, Melvin and Milton; and an infant brother.
