LOIS PETERS RITES MONDAY

Lois M. Peters, 75, of Newton died Friday, April 8, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Claussen, pastor of the Kellogg Christian Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler. Pallbearers were Roger E., Craig A., Stephen R., and Lyle E. Peters, Robert Bishop and James A. Borchers. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of E.F. and Agnes McKee Holmes, she was born July 14, 1912, near Grinnell. She attended rural schools.

She was married to Earl R. Peters Oct. 4, 1933, at Brooklyn. The couple farmed near Montezuma and Newburg before moving to Newton in 1956. Mrs. Peters was employed at the Vernon Co. in Newton from 1954 to 1975. She was a member of the State Grange of Iowa. She had been a resident at Friendship Manor since Feb. 17 of this year.

Survivors include two sons, Richard F. Peters of Newton and Roger A. Peters of rural Grinnell; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
